T.O.P.S.![]() Therapies Occupational, Physical, The Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center’s T.O.P.S. program is designed to serve children from birth to approximately five years of age with fine and gross motor delays and communication or feeding delays, residing in Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Children who are medically fragile can benefit from this program. A licensed Social Worker, Speech-Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist, and Occupational Therapist, specializing in the treatment of infants and children staff the program. It is often difficult for parents of medically fragile children to obtain all three therapies at one site simultaneously, YHSC meets that need. The three therapists work with the group of children at the same time, and in the same room. This allows for socialization among the children. The program provides complete developmental assessments, consultation and referral services, and assistance in selecting necessary equipment the families may need for their child. The program objectives are designed to meet the needs of both the children and families. The therapists’s use neuro-developmental techniques and sensory integration theories to achieve developmental milestones.
