New digital hearing aid products are here! Phonak's "Ambra" and "Audeo S" series, and Oticon's "Agil" offer better hearing in noise through expanded bandwidths. The audiology staff will be receiving formal training on these products and they will be available at the Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center.

The Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center (YHSC) is a comprehensive hearing and Speech Center serving infants, children and adults with communication disorders. YHSC provides administrative assistance for The Community Center for the Deaf which provides case management and interpreting services to the deaf and hard-of-hearing in a twelve county region from Ashtabula to Steubenville.

YHSC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors, and is a United Way affiliate in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Northern Columbiana counties. Our United Way affiliations and financial support from benefactors allows us to serve our community.

Grant Received

Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties and the Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center has received a $10,000.00 grant from the Kennedy Family Fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. The grant will support the outpatient medical rehabilitation services provided by the organizations.

Easters Seals and the Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center provide comprehensive medical rehabilitation services as well as offering specialized therapeutic programs for infants, children and adults from as early as one day old to elderly individuals. The combined organization provides; physical, occupational, speech/language, audiology, social work and when necessary transportation services for children and adults with a variety of disorders. Infants, children and adults suffering from congenital birth defects, muscular dystrophies, cerebral palsy, strokes, cancer, laryngectomies, arthritis, neuro-developmental delays, swallowing disorders, auditory disorders including deafness, autism, Down syndrome and Alzheimer's receive services.
